Raspberry Seed Lip Oil
A three-oil lip gloss where raspberry seed oil gives a light, non-greasy slip, jojoba oil holds it in place, and a drop of vitamin E keeps the blend from going stale.

You will need
- 2 tsp raspberry seed oil
- 1 tsp jojoba oil
- 1 drop vitamin E oil
The ritual
- Measure the raspberry seed oil and jojoba oil into a small clean bowl.
- Add one drop of vitamin E oil and stir gently with a clean spoon.
- Pour into a small dropper bottle or a clean gloss tube using a funnel.
- Dab a rice-grain amount onto clean lips and press them together to spread it.
- Reapply whenever lips feel tight, and keep the applicator off anything else.
Why these ingredients
- 2 tsp raspberry seed oil
- A light, fast-sinking oil that gives gloss without the heavy feel of a balm, and it carries a faint fruity smell.
- 1 tsp jojoba oil
- Technically a liquid wax, so it clings to the lip surface and keeps the blend from wearing off in the first ten minutes.
- 1 drop vitamin E oil
- One drop as an antioxidant, which slows the oils going rancid. It is there for the shelf life, not for your lips.
Easy swaps
- 2 tsp raspberry seed oil → rosehip or grapeseed oil for a similarly light feel.
- 1 tsp jojoba oil → sweet almond oil, or castor oil if you want noticeably more shine.
- 1 drop vitamin E oil → leave it out, and use the blend within two months instead.
Keep it clean
Mix with freshly washed hands and clean, dry bowls and spoons. If a recipe is stored, use a jar or bottle washed in hot soapy water and dried completely, and never dip wet fingers into the batch.
Storage & when to let go
Keeps around six months in a sealed bottle away from light and heat. Bin it if it smells sharp or crayon-like.
What to expect — honestly
Lips look glossy and feel smoother for a couple of hours, and the oil sits lighter than a waxed balm. It wears off with drinks and meals and needs going back to. It is gloss and comfort, and it will not do anything for badly cracked lips that a doctor should be looking at.
Common questions
Does raspberry seed oil give sun protection?
No. You will see that claim online, but nothing you mix in a kitchen is a tested sunscreen. Use a proper SPF product if you want sun protection.
Why does it feel thinner than a lip balm?
There is no wax in it. An oil sits lighter and glossier than a balm, and it needs reapplying more often as a result.
