This page explains how PrincessGlow is made — how we choose topics, write recipes, handle mistakes, use AI, and deal with money. We'd rather over-explain than leave you guessing.

How topics are chosen

We collect traditional and popular home-beauty recipes — the kind passed between friends, families and beauty cultures around the world — and select the ones that use safe, common kitchen ingredients in sensible amounts. Recipes built around harsh or risky ingredients are either adapted (with the risky part removed or made optional, and clearly explained) or not published.

Who writes and edits

Content is written and edited by the small PrincessGlow editorial team. We are writers and careful researchers, not medical professionals: no dermatologist, doctor or cosmetic chemist currently reviews this site, and we never imply otherwise. Where a claim would need medical expertise, we don't make the claim.

How recipes are reviewed

Every recipe goes through an editorial checklist before publication: ingredient amounts are sanity-checked against common cosmetic practice; known irritants, allergens and photosensitisers are flagged with warnings; storage limits reflect the perishability of the ingredients; and every "what to expect" section is written to describe how a recipe feels rather than promising results. We do not run a laboratory and do not make testing claims.

How factual claims are sourced

We keep ingredient descriptions at the level of widely accepted cosmetic knowledge (for example, that honey is a humectant or that clay absorbs oil) and deliberately avoid medical or therapeutic claims, which would require clinical evidence we cannot verify. Where popular belief outruns evidence — hair-growth rinses, scar oils, pore-shrinking tricks — we say so directly in the recipe itself.

Corrections

When we learn that something is wrong, unclear or unsafe, we correct the page and update its "Updated" date. Spotted an error? Please tell us at hello@princessglow.org — corrections are a gift.

How we use AI — and how we don't

• Images: the photographs on this site are AI-assisted illustrations, created to show the mood and ingredients of each ritual. They are decorative and illustrative — they do not show real prepared batches or real-world results, and shouldn't be read as proof of anything.
• Text: we use AI tools to help draft and polish writing. Every recipe, claim and safety note is reviewed and decided by the editorial team, who remain fully responsible for what is published.
• What AI never does here: invent testimonials, reviews, credentials, test results or "before and after" outcomes. None of those appear on this site.

Advertising, affiliates and money

PrincessGlow currently displays no third-party advertising and uses no affiliate links. If advertising (for example Google AdSense) is introduced in the future, ads will be clearly distinguishable from content, will never influence what a recipe says, and this page and the privacy policy will be updated before anything goes live. We do not accept payment for positive coverage.

Our promise, in one line

If a sentence on this site makes a promise your skin can't cash, we consider that a bug — and we'd like to hear about it.
