Cucumber Glycerin Body Splash
Cucumber juice gives a fresh, watery note, cooled boiled water keeps the splash clean and light, and a teaspoon of glycerin stops it evaporating off the skin in seconds.

You will need
- 1/4 cup strained cucumber juice
- 1/4 cup cooled boiled water
- 1 tsp vegetable glycerin
The ritual
- Grate half a cucumber and press the pulp through a fine sieve.
- Measure the juice and mix it with the cooled boiled water.
- Stir in the glycerin until the liquid looks even and very slightly syrupy.
- Decant into a clean spray bottle and chill it for an hour.
- Mist over arms, shoulders and legs after a shower, keeping it off your face.
Why these ingredients
- 1/4 cup strained cucumber juice
- Cucumber juice is mostly water with a clean green scent, and it feels cooler going on than plain water does.
- 1/4 cup cooled boiled water
- Boiled and cooled water dilutes the juice and keeps the mix cleaner than tap water in a bottle with no preservative.
- 1 tsp vegetable glycerin
- Glycerin draws a little water to the skin surface, so the splash leaves softness behind instead of simply drying off.
Easy swaps
- 1/4 cup strained cucumber juice → strained melon or aloe juice for the same watery feel.
- 1/4 cup cooled boiled water → cooled green tea, which keeps just as briefly.
- 1 tsp vegetable glycerin → 1 tsp aloe vera gel, whisked in thoroughly.
Keep it clean
Mix with freshly washed hands and clean, dry bowls and spoons. If a recipe is stored, use a jar or bottle washed in hot soapy water and dried completely, and never dip wet fingers into the batch.
Storage & when to let go
Fridge only, and use within three days. There is no preservative here, so cloudiness or an off smell means tip it away.
What to expect — honestly
Skin feels cool and faintly soft for an hour or so after a shower. That is moisture and temperature on the surface, nothing more, and it will not do what a proper body lotion does for genuinely dry skin. The scent fades within minutes.
Common questions
Can I skip the glycerin?
You can, but then it is essentially cucumber water and it dries off within a minute. The glycerin is what leaves that faint soft finish behind.
Why cooled boiled water?
Boiled and cooled water gives you a cleaner starting point than the tap in a mix with no preservative. It buys you a day or two, no more.
