Coconut Water Body Mist
A light body mist of coconut water cut with cooled boiled water, plus a trace of glycerin so it settles into skin rather than evaporating straight off.

You will need
- 1/4 cup pure coconut water
- 1/4 cup cooled boiled water
- 1/2 tsp vegetable glycerin
The ritual
- Pour the coconut water and cooled boiled water into a clean spray bottle.
- Add the glycerin, cap the bottle, and shake until it is fully combined.
- Chill in the fridge for at least an hour before the first use.
- Shake, then mist onto arms, legs and the back of the neck.
- Let it dry on the skin instead of wiping it away.
Why these ingredients
- 1/4 cup pure coconut water
- The character of the mist, bringing a faint sweet scent and a fresh feel that plain water on its own cannot give.
- 1/4 cup cooled boiled water
- Dilutes the coconut water so the spray dries clean rather than tacky, and keeps the mix as fresh as possible.
- 1/2 tsp vegetable glycerin
- A small amount holds moisture at the surface as the mist dries, so skin feels soft instead of merely cooled.
Easy swaps
- 1/4 cup pure coconut water → cooled green tea or plain distilled water for something that keeps longer.
- 1/4 cup cooled boiled water → distilled water, which is the better choice if you have it.
- 1/2 tsp vegetable glycerin → aloe vera juice at the same amount, or leave it out for a drier finish.
Keep it clean
Mix with freshly washed hands and clean, dry bowls and spoons. If a recipe is stored, use a jar or bottle washed in hot soapy water and dried completely, and never dip wet fingers into the batch.
Storage & when to let go
Two to three days in the fridge at most. Coconut water sours quickly, so make a small batch and tip it away at the first sour smell.
What to expect — honestly
On a hot day it cools skin immediately and leaves a light, faintly sweet freshness behind. That is the whole of it: refreshment and a nice smell, not hydration in any lasting sense. The cool feeling goes within minutes, and the batch itself only lasts a couple of days.
Common questions
Does it have to be pure coconut water?
Yes. Sweetened or flavoured versions add sugars and additives that leave skin tacky and spoil even faster than plain coconut water does.
Can I use it on my face?
You can mist it lightly on the face with eyes closed, but avoid it entirely on broken skin and stop if it feels at all sticky.
