Teen Gentle Spot Dab
A tiny dab for bedtime: aloe vera gel carries everything and feels cool, witch hazel helps it dry down quickly, and one drop of tea tree gives the pot a clean scent.

You will need
- 1 tsp aloe vera gel
- 1/2 tsp witch hazel
- 1 drop tea tree essential oil
The ritual
- Stir the aloe vera gel and witch hazel together in a small clean pot.
- Add exactly one drop of tea tree oil and mix it right through.
- Wash your face and pat it dry before you go near the pot.
- Dab a little on with a cotton bud, only where you need it.
- Let it dry, then keep your hands off it until the morning.
Why these ingredients
- 1 tsp aloe vera gel
- The base. It goes on cool, dries clear and holds the other two in a thin layer over one small spot.
- 1/2 tsp witch hazel
- Thins the gel and helps the dab dry down quickly, so it is not sitting wet on your pillow.
- 1 drop tea tree essential oil
- One drop only, for a clean familiar scent at this dilution. More would irritate thin facial skin rather than help it.
Easy swaps
- 1 tsp aloe vera gel → plain aloe gel with no added colour or alcohol, which is what you want anyway.
- 1/2 tsp witch hazel → cooled green tea, or rosewater if witch hazel feels drying.
- 1 drop tea tree essential oil → leave it out completely; the dab is just as good with no essential oil at all.
Keep it clean
Mix with freshly washed hands and clean, dry bowls and spoons. If a recipe is stored, use a jar or bottle washed in hot soapy water and dried completely, and never dip wet fingers into the batch.
Storage & when to let go
Two weeks in a small clean pot in the fridge. Make it in this small quantity so it never sits about.
What to expect — honestly
It feels cool, dries invisible and gives you something to do at bedtime other than pick. That is honestly the whole of it. Spots come and go on their own timetable, and a persistent problem is one for a pharmacist or GP rather than a homemade dab.
Common questions
Will this clear my spots up?
No, and anything promising that is overselling itself. This is a cool, tidy dab that helps you leave a spot alone overnight, which is worth something on its own.
Can I use more tea tree?
No. One drop in this amount is already about as strong as facial skin should meet. More is not stronger in any useful way, only more likely to irritate.
