Oat & Honey Gentle Cleanser
A creamy oat cleanser that lifts dirt without stripping — oats calm redness, honey draws in moisture, and yogurt melts away the day gently.

You will need
- 2 tbsp finely ground oats
- 1 tbsp plain yogurt
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 tsp warm water
The ritual
- Stir everything into a soft, spreadable cream.
- Massage onto damp skin in slow circles for 30-60 seconds.
- Let it sit one minute so the oats can calm the skin.
- Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry.
Why these ingredients
- 2 tbsp finely ground oats
- Oats are the classic choice for reactive skin — they lift away dirt with almost no friction and leave a soft, calmed feel.
- 1 tbsp plain yogurt
- Creamy enough to loosen the day's grime without the tight squeak of a foaming wash.
- 1 tsp honey
- A humectant that keeps the cleanse from stripping, and it makes the cream spreadable.
- 1 tsp warm water
- Just enough to loosen the mix so it moves over skin instead of dragging.
Easy swaps
- 2 tbsp ground oats → Rice flour, ground very fine.
- 1 tbsp yogurt → Coconut yogurt or a splash of oat milk (dairy-free).
- 1 tsp honey → Mashed banana, or leave it out for a bee-free version.
- 1 tsp warm water → Cooled chamomile tea.
Keep it clean
Mix with freshly washed hands and clean, dry bowls and spoons. If a recipe is stored, use a jar or bottle washed in hot soapy water and dried completely, and never dip wet fingers into the batch.
Storage & when to let go
Make fresh each time — yogurt and honey don't keep once mixed.
What to expect — honestly
A cleanser like this removes the day — sunscreen, light makeup, sweat — and usually leaves skin feeling comfortable rather than tight. It won't take off heavy or waterproof makeup on its own, and it isn't a treatment for acne, eczema or rosacea. If your skin is reactive, the point here is simply that this is one of the gentler ways to wash your face.
Common questions
Will it remove makeup?
It removes light makeup and sunscreen; for heavy or waterproof makeup, use an oil cleanse first.
Morning and night?
Yes — it's mild enough for twice daily.
