Chilled Spoon Contour Ritual
Two chilled teaspoons glide cold across the face, a cup of chilled water keeps them cold between passes, and a trace of jojoba oil stops the metal dragging on skin.

You will need
- 2 stainless-steel teaspoons
- 1 cup chilled water
- 1 tsp jojoba oil
The ritual
- Stand both teaspoons in the cup of chilled water and leave them ten minutes.
- Smooth the jojoba oil over clean skin so the spoons can glide freely.
- Press the back of a cold spoon under one eye and sweep outwards to the temple.
- Work along the jaw and cheekbones, swapping spoons whenever one warms up.
- Stop after five minutes, blot away the excess oil and carry on as usual.
Why these ingredients
- 2 stainless-steel teaspoons
- Metal holds cold well and gives it up slowly, and the curved back is exactly the right shape for the hollow under an eye.
- 1 cup chilled water
- Keeps the spare spoon cold while you use the other one, so you can keep swapping instead of stopping halfway.
- 1 tsp jojoba oil
- A thin slip layer so the metal glides instead of dragging, which matters most on the thin skin under the eyes.
Easy swaps
- 2 stainless-steel teaspoons → two smooth flat pebbles, or a chilled glass jar rolled on its side.
- 1 cup chilled water → a bowl of water with a couple of ice cubes, spoons resting against the side.
- 1 tsp jojoba oil → any light facial oil, or your usual moisturiser applied a little more generously.
Keep it clean
Mix with freshly washed hands and clean, dry bowls and spoons. If a recipe is stored, use a jar or bottle washed in hot soapy water and dried completely, and never dip wet fingers into the batch.
Storage & when to let go
Nothing to store. Wash and dry the spoons and tip the water away.
What to expect — honestly
The area looks fresher and a bit less puffy for an hour or two, and the cold feels good on a tired morning. It is temporary and entirely superficial. Nothing here changes the structure of your face or the shape of anything permanently.
Common questions
Can I keep the spoons in the freezer instead?
Chilled water is better. Freezer-cold metal can stick to damp skin and feels uncomfortably sharp on the thin area underneath the eyes.
Does this actually help with puffiness?
It makes the area look a little less swollen for an hour or so, mostly by cooling the surface. Sleep, salt and how you slept matter far more.
